Floating floor installation method is a no glue, nail or staple installation. The subfloor is covered with padding that has a moisture barrier. The padding also reduces the noise. In some cases, high rise buildings require padding underneath wood floors to reduce noise from walking.
The Wood locks together tongue and groove "Floating" over the pad. This method does very well for humid climate as the padding blocks potential moisture that may emit from concrete slabs.
